黄石寨又名黄狮寨，原名黄丝寨。位于张家界国家森林公园中部，为一方山台地，海拔1080m，寨顶面积约16.4m2，周围悬崖绝壁，绿树丛生，有许多凌空观景台。沿寨环行，群峰皆立足下，奇景尽收眼底。故有“不上黄石寨，枉到张家界”之说。著名景点有天桥遗墩、天然壁画、前花园、雾海金龟、海螺峰、飞云洞、天书宝匣、南天一柱、南天门、六奇阁等。

     Huangshi Village, whose original name is Huangsi village, is also called Yellow Lion Village. Located in the middle of The Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, it is surrounded by cliffs and green jungles. With an altitude of 1,080 meters above sea level and an area of about 16.4 hm2, Huangshi Village has a large number of scenic spots such as Remaining Piers of the Heavenly Bridge, Natural Fresco, Front Garden, Golden Turtle in the Clouds Sea, Conch's Peak, Flying Cloud Cave, Sealed Book Precious Case, South-ern Hearen Pillar, Souther Heaven Gate, Six Wonders Pavilion etc. Walking along the Huangshi Village, you will feel the mountain peaks are below your feet, and all the peculiar landscapes are within your eyes. Therefore, there is a saying:" If you went to Zhangjiajie but didn't climb the Huangshi Village, then all the scenic spots you visited will be meaningless ".
