4th Workshop on Liquid Crystals for Photonics 2012

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are most delighted to invite you to the "4th Workshop on Liquid Crystals for Photonics," organized by the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), on December, 2012 at HKUST, Hong Kong.
The purpose of the Workshop is to provide a forum for liquid crystal (LC) scientists, researchers, and engineers around the world to present their pioneering work on recent progress in LC research for photonics and displays and to exchange their ideas with one another. The workshop also aims to enhance the competitiveness of the local academics and photonics industry through sharing of the latest technology updates in the industry. Discussion will provide a state-of-the-art overview of the area, highlighting the latest advances and possible future directions. Research activities, presentations and discussions of new results in the LC photonics area will be extensively represented as the main activities. The Workshop will have a large number of invited speakers to enable cross-fertilization among researchers working in LC materials and devices. The Workshop will also seek papers in interesting or novel applications, or papers that enhance LC material properties for photonic and display applications. The Organizing Committee will have the responsibility of ensuring an in-depth scientific coverage with invited and contributed papers from various countries and ensuring an enjoyable scientific program.
